I joined ZTC because I totally believe in the concept. I am excited that someone has organized this idea into reality.
I have been a tutor/teacher/mentor/life coach for over 30 years. I have taught people as young as 2 1/2 all the way up to a 75 year old. I have taught and directed at a Montessori, I have taught at the college level, and I have run my own resource center for homeschoolers.
For the last 20 years, I have worked with homeschooled teens who wanted to start living instead of waiting for life to begin. They told me what they wanted to 'be' right now (not when they grew up) and I matched them with adults in the field, business owners, local artist, etc. Then I helped them keep records and portfolios so that we could write transcripts and apply to colleges of their choice. I also tutored them in any of the academic subjects they needed to better do what it was they wanted to do.
Many of my students ended up starting their own business... one was just 12 years old when she started her first successful photography business.
My personal interests include, but are not limited to: Photography, Life Coaching, Visual Arts, Literature, Educational Planning, helping others achieve their dreams, Helping people learn the skills to carry out their passions, and general mentoring.
I am excited to meet and encourage anyone who is setting out on this counter-cultural self guided education!
