- Holistic Living/Thinking
I have believed in the power and importance of self-directed learning for much of my schooling career. Even attending a great 4 year school (Prescott College in Arizona) that touts the same philosophy, I felt that my possibilities were limited by the independent study framework, ie. I'd like to be able to take advantage of spontaneous (though serious) learning opportunities.
My interests are several distinct paths that have a point of convergence. I am interested in educating about and possibly practicing holistic health care, interested in helping create more sustainable local food sheds (especially in my home state of Pennsylvania) and encouraging community resilience in the USA, ala the Transition Towns movement.
My next step educationally and in supporting my own well-being is to create a healthy space for me to express myself, including drawing, writing (which is a passion) and hopefully joining a band once again! I also will be considering community college classes and, more alluring, apprenticeships/internships/ships sailing down the river...
Let's learn something together,
